A Day on the Road: Craft Beer Deliveries Across the Bay Area
Starting the Delivery Route
Today, we’re heading out for home deliveries — bringing fresh craft beer straight from our Oakland brewery to customers around the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks to a recent feature in the SF Chronicle, we received an incredible number of orders. That means 39 delivery stops today — and a very busy schedule ahead.
The only challenge? It’s going to rain. Rain is great for California, but not exactly ideal for a day spent on the road making beer deliveries.
We’ve just made our first delivery and are reviewing our route. With 39 stops lined up, there’s no time to waste.
When we released our very first batch of canned beer, I wanted to see how we could reach more people. So I made a quick post online — and a friend shared it with a South Bay Facebook community. That single post brought in a wave of orders and helped us connect with local craft beer fans across the region.
At first, I handled deliveries once a week, since I couldn’t drive every day. Eventually, that grew into two delivery days a week, and for a while, it was the perfect rhythm for our small team.
From San Francisco to the East Bay
By mid-afternoon, we’ve already completed 28 deliveries in San Francisco and are heading toward the East Bay. We’re only able to deliver once or twice a week because our staff is limited, and we need to consolidate all orders to make each trip efficient.
Thankfully, our customers have been incredibly patient and understanding. Many people know what small food and beverage companies are going through right now, and that shared understanding has meant a lot. Even so, we never want to compromise on service — we always strive to deliver every order with care and reliability.
We’re now on our 37th stop — 35 deliveries down and just a few to go. That’s a pretty successful day in our book.
Wrapping Up and Looking Ahead
By the end of the route, we’ve completed 38 of 39 deliveries — our record high for a single day. Some days are even longer, with more than 200 miles of driving and up to 30 stops. But today feels like a win.
As our brewery continues to grow, we’ll be moving away from local deliveries and focusing more on nationwide shipping. Increasing traffic and logistical challenges have made it difficult to keep up regular delivery routes, but the good news is this will give us more time to focus on what we love most: brewing unique, high-quality craft beer for all of you.
We’re grateful to everyone who supported our local delivery program from the start. Stay tuned for future updates and behind-the-scenes looks at our brewing process — and keep an eye out for new releases coming soon.
Cheers, and see you on the next round! 🍻
