Join our CEO and Founder, Youngwon Lee on one of his final local delivery runs across the San Francisco Bay Area, a busy day inspired by Dokkaebier’s feature in the SF Chronicle. With 39 stops in total, this journey captures the energy, passion, and community connection behind delivering Asian-inspired craft beer directly to customers. As Dokkaebier moves from local deliveries to statewide shipping, this episode celebrates the brand’s growth and the loyal supporters who’ve been part of its story from the start.
Intro
Today we're gonna be doing home deliveries. Thankfully we got featured in SF Chronicle and a lot of people ordered from us. So we have 39 stops to make today, so we have to be in a hurry. Ah it's gonna rain. Rain is good for California. But not for me on my delivery days. All right so we just made a delivery to the first spot. This is our route today. So we'll be going to 39 spots, we better move fast. So we were running the taproom and we had our first batch of cans. And I wanted to see how I can sell beer outside of the tap room. So I made a post and then my friend actually shared that to some Facebook community in the South Bay and that's where we got a lot of orders. So I made a delivery I started doing once a week delivery because I can't drive every day. And then that became two-day delivery and that was good.
Delivery Schedule
We just hit 28 places in San Francisco. Now we're driving to the East Bay. We can only deliver once or twice a week because we're just limited by the number of staff. And we have to consolidate everything together and I think a lot of customers are understanding what we are going through and what other, a lot of food and beverage companies are going through. They're being extra patient with the service level. But we don't want to offer bad service because of the situation. We will try our best to do it at our own ability We're going to our stop 37. And we've made it to...we've delivered to 35 out of 36. That's a high success rate. Yeah that's a good day.
Outro
So we've made 38 of 39 deliveries. That's a record high for one day. Although there are days that are longer when we drive about 200 miles. Maybe 30 stops at max. But it was a good day for sure. Unfortunately we're moving away from local delivery and we'll be only doing shipping going forward because it is a little bit more challenging for us to make deliveries with increase in traffic. So you won't see me making deliveries but for sure I will have more time making more beer for all of you guys. So look out for us for a future episode where we'll be introducing a little bit more behind the scenes of what we do as a brewery and hope to see you guys in a few weeks. Bye, cheers!
