Dokkaebier is opening its doors on a rare Tuesday night for an exclusive event: Beer Runners! This fun and social activity combines fitness with craft beer, welcoming runners of all levels to enjoy Oakland’s scenic routes and award-winning beers.

Run, Drink, Repeat!

The event includes two running options:

  1. 5k Route: Perfect for those looking for a quick and enjoyable run, with a turnaround at the 19th St/Lakeside Dr/Madison St signal light.
  2. 5-Mile Route: A longer loop via Grand Avenue for experienced runners.

Runners can leave their belongings at the taproom, where a designated person will keep an eye on them. Remember, Oakland is an urban area, so avoid leaving valuables in your car. For added convenience, Dokkaebier is just a short walk from the 12th St BART station (0.5 miles) and Lake Merritt BART station (0.75 miles).

Who is Hella Coastal?

Joining the event is Hella Coastal, Oakland’s first Black-owned brewery. Hella Coastal was founded to address the lack of diversity in craft beer production and ownership. With a focus on equity, inclusivity, and representation, they aim to reshape the industry while honoring the tradition of under-recognized brewers.

Hella Coastal celebrates Oakland's rich history, from its influence on the Black Panther movement to its contributions to music and culture. By spotlighting diverse producers, they create beers that reflect the vibrancy of their community.
